- Tape measure
- Pencil
- Spirit level
- Hammer or drill
- Nails or screws
- Dowels (if screws are used and the wall is made of plasterboard or similar material)
- Picture hooks or hanging system (optional)
Step-by-step instructions
1. Preparation- Decide where you want to hang the canvas. Consider how high you want the canvas to hang and how it will look in the room.
- Use a tape measure to measure the height at which you want to hang the canvas.
- Mark the desired height on the wall with a pencil.
- Use a spirit level to make sure the mark is straight.
3. Determination of the attachment points
- Place the canvas face up on a flat surface.
- Measure the distances of the hanging points (e.g. the eyelets or wire hangers) and mark these distances on the wall, starting from your first mark.
4. Drilling or nailing
- If you use screws: drill holes at the marked points. If the wall is made of plasterboard, insert anchors.
- If you use nails: carefully hammer the nails into the marked points.
5. Hanging
- Hang the canvas on the nails or screws.
- If the screen has hanging systems such as wire hangers, make sure the wire is hung securely over the screws or nails.
6. Align
- Use the spirit level to make sure the canvas hangs straight, adjusting it if necessary until it is perfectly aligned.
Tips
- Heavy canvases : For larger and heavier canvases, you should use picture hooks or special hanging systems that can better support the weight.
- Protecting the wall : Use felt pads or other protective materials on the corners of the canvas to protect the wall from scratches.
- Flexibility : If you plan to move the screen around frequently, removable adhesive hooks might be a good option.
With these instructions you should be able to attach your screen safely and securely to the wall.
